Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a stabbing at the Halifax Transit Bridge Terminal in Dartmouth.

On September 21st, at approximately 8:10 pm, police received a report that someone had been stabbed on Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by EHS with serious injuries.
The suspect fled the area but was located and arrested by officers at approximately 8:30 pm, on a Halifax Transit bus. During the arrest, officers located and seized a knife. Everett Laybolt, 41, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
The investigation is in the early stages and police are asking anyone with information or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020.
